Across the country, an extremely important, but frequently overlooked, phase of the basketball recruiting process is underway… College basketball coaches are, once again, able to visit high schools, watch scholastic players and evaluate guys they have prioritized over the AAU/grassroots season. These “open gyms” are significant for a number of reasons: 1) a coach’s presence reveals that he continues to be very interested in a prospect; 2) players get to perform in a more relaxed setting with HS teammates; 3) players that have been previously overlooked or did not play on one of the major shoe company circuits get an opportunity to catch the eye of college coaches.

The Black Cager will be visiting “Open Gyms” throughout the mid-Atlantic Region. Also, 48 HS teams, featuring some of the finest players in the nation, will participate in the Black Cager Fall Classic October 14-15 at Girard College. Black Cager Scouting Service will share player evaluations with college basketball programs.
